London Markets
London has loads of weekly, yearly, and even daily markets that offer everything from vintage clothing to fresh groceries and everything in between. From Old Spitalfields Market to Camden Market, Portobello Market, and Jubilee market, there are so many markets each with its own unique quirks and specialties to discover.
Spitalfields is all about the vintage and classic wares, Camden is about as hipster and cool as you can possibly get, and Portobello Market is so beautiful you don’t even have to buy anything – just spend the day exploring.
Walking the parks
Taking a gentle walk in the park is not necessarily an activity you’d associate with a capital city, but London has a surprising number of gorgeous parks to get lost in.
Richmond Park, Hyde Park, Greenwich Park, and Kew gardens are world famous but for our money, one of the most idyllic views can be found from the top of Primrose Hill.
Check out galleries and street art
The culture in London is world-class with the Saatchi gallery, national gallery, and Tate Modern gallery offering hundreds of opportunities to explore the very best the art world has to offer.
If you’re more into your graffiti there is also lots of street art you can check out across London, particularly in Shoreditch and around Camden.
Discovering the history of London
As the capital city of a country with a history that stretches back thousands of years, London is a history lover’s dream. For the history of London, check out the London Dungeon and Tower of London where you can even get a glimpse of the crown jewels.
There are also lots of history walking tours like the Jack Ripper tour you can check out if you have the time, patience, and stomach for it.
