Beefeater Rewards Club customers have just days to use their points before they expire

Beefeater customers with unused Rewards Club points have only a few days left to turn them into vouchers and spend them. The loyalty scheme is closing at the end of August, but there is an important distinction between the deadline for earning points and the deadline for using rewards.

    • Common misconceptions about the points deadline

    • The bottom line

    What’s actually true

Beefeater’s own website confirms that its Rewards Club is closing on Monday 31 August 2026. Customers who still have eligible points need to convert them into points-based vouchers and use those vouchers by that date. (beefeater.co.uk)

The scheme normally allows members to collect five points for every £1 spent at participating restaurants. Once a customer reaches 500 points, the balance can be exchanged for rewards including a £5 voucher, a free bottle of wine or two free starters or desserts. (beefeatergrillrewardclub.co.uk)

However, the key deadline for collecting points has already passed. Beefeater says points, or receipt details for missing points, had to be added by Monday 24 August. Any remaining eligible points then need to be converted and the resulting vouchers used by Monday 31 August. (beefeatergrillrewardclub.co.uk)

That means customers should not assume they can simply keep earning points over the final weekend.

Why is Beefeater’s loyalty scheme closing?

The change is linked to a much bigger shake-up at Whitbread, Beefeater’s parent company.

Whitbread announced plans to leave its remaining branded restaurant businesses as it refocuses on becoming a hotel-focused company centred on Premier Inn. The company’s restaurant brands include Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table, Cookhouse + Pub, Whitbread Inns and Bar + Block. (Whitbread PLC)

Importantly, this does not mean every Beefeater restaurant has already shut. Whitbread specifically said in June that its branded restaurants remained open and trading, after reports had incorrectly suggested some had already closed. (Whitbread PLC)

So the loyalty deadline and restaurant closure timetable should not be treated as the same thing.

Common misconceptions about the points deadline

One common mistake is assuming that points can be spent directly at the till. The Rewards Club system requires eligible points to be converted into vouchers first. Those vouchers can then be presented when paying at participating restaurants. (brewersfayrebonusclub.co.uk)

Another misconception is that a Beefeater voucher necessarily has to be used at Beefeater. The scheme’s information says points-based vouchers can also be used at participating sister restaurants, including Brewers Fayre, Table Table, Cookhouse + Pub, Whitbread Inns and Bar + Block. (brewersfayrebonusclub.co.uk)

There is also a difference between ordinary points expiry and the special closure deadline. While points normally have their own validity rules, the current closure arrangements state that all remaining points balances expire at 7 am on Tuesday 1 September 2026. (brewersfayrebonusclub.co.uk)

What should Beefeater customers do now?

If you have a Beefeater Rewards Club account, log in and check your balance as soon as possible.

If you have enough points to exchange for a reward, convert them into a voucher and check the voucher’s expiry date. Under the current closure rules, points-based vouchers converted during the relevant period must be used by Monday 31 August. (brewersfayrebonusclub.co.uk)

It is also worth checking the participating restaurant rules before travelling, particularly if you intend to use a voucher at a sister Whitbread brand.

    The bottom line

Beefeater’s Rewards Club is coming to an end, and Monday 31 August 2026 is the crucial final day for using points-based vouchers. The deadline for adding new points has already passed, so customers with a balance should check their account now rather than leaving it until the final day.

The wider Beefeater changes are part of Whitbread’s strategy to move towards a hotel-focused business, but customers should not confuse the loyalty scheme’s closure with every restaurant immediately disappearing. (Whitbread PLC)
